L.E.D. Festival Countdown

The L.E.D. Festival (London Electronic Dance Festival) takes place in the capital's Victoria Park on the 27th & 28th August with headliners David Guetta, Leftfield and a host of others including Aphex Twin, Friendly Fires and Goldfrapp.

Live music connoisseurs Cream, Goldenvoice and Loudsound got together this year to create L.E.D, a brand new London Festival which arrives just in time for the end of summer. And it's not starting small: L.E.D is bringing together huge electronic and dance acts for a euphoric two days in the sun.

Held in East London's stunning festival hotspot Victoria Park, L.E.D. also caters for the city-dweller who doesn't normally 'do' festivals - there's the option to go as a VIP, and have access to a cocktail bar, a secret garden, your own private Cabana, exclusive seating and nice loos.

Stay tuned to ClashMusic.com as we countdown to the event on the 27th and 28th August 2010 with interviews, dj mixes and more from some of the acts set to appear.

Video of the Day Aphex Twin 'Windowlicker'

"Earliest Aphex Twin releases have become timeless classics and recent work is now gaining the appreciation it truly deserves. This man needs no discography outlined. You know the classics already. We’re talking ‘Selected Ambient Works Vol.1’, ‘Analogue Bubblebath’, ‘Didgeridoo’, ‘Windowlicker’, ‘Drukqs’, and his famous remix album ‘26 Mixes For Cash’."

"For a few years they'd been asking me to do it and I was like 'Fuck off' thinking it would be a bunch of kids with violins. When I saw the electronic and urban angle I thought 'Well actually this is something I'm interested in'. "

Video of the Day Audio Bullys 'Only Man'

"Christened courtesy of his Amiga –tinged tracks as a youngster, Boy 8-Bit aka David Morris has come a long way, baby. Starting out as a computer DJ in his teens, both his love and commitment for electronic music escalated as he discovered programs that allowed him to create beyond his initially basic means."

"‘Higher Than The Eiffel’ comes four years after Audio Bullys’ second album, ‘Generation’. Four years that, say the duo, Simon Franks and Tom Dinsdale, by their own admittance lost their way following the massive success of the Nancy Sinatra-sampling ‘Shot You Down’."

Video of the Day Tiga 'Shoes'

"Full of sleazy electro and dark house vibes, Tiga’s mix is also the perfect audio example of his own finely-crafted electronic style. Towards the second half of the mix, things also take a distinctly techno turn, resulting in some quite superb moments – dirty bass, glitches and skewered vocal loops. Lovely."

"Close your eyes and imagine, if you will, the bastard son of the Misfits and Daft Punk. As gruesome as the act of conception may appear, the union would generate the most grandiose of offspring. A formidable force, not unlike the Bloody Beetroots."

Video of the Day Soulwax 'E-Talking'

"It's about 1am backstage at the second night of Sonar par Noche in Barcelona. James Murphy is running up and down the corridors in a white suit screaming like Tarzan, yet Stephen and David Dewaele AKA 2manydjs are a picture of measured calm."

"It’s the turn of bleep-core fanatic Boy 8-Bit to weave his magic via the Clash podcast, proffering 30 minutes of obscenely danceable madness exclusive to us UK folk."
