New York based surf-pop outfit The Drums have released an unusual Arcade Fire cover ahead of their new tour.
The Drums have spent the bulk of the summer charming the nation. Mixing glorious surf-pop melodies with a post-punk framework, the band are like the missing link between Dick Dale and New Order.
Releasing their debut album earlier this year, the band hit the festival trail running. Playing shows across the nation, The Drums travelled from Scotland's T In The Park to Glastonbury in the South of England.
Recently playing at Reading and Leeds, the band dropped by Radio 1 for a quick live session. The Drums decided to play an unusual cover they had been working on, taking on indie rock godheads Arcade Fire.
Brushing through 'We Used To Wait' the New York outfit injected a sense of whimsical joy to the original. An unusual and prescient cover, fans can now download it for free.
