Hyperdub boss Kode9 is set to preview Burial's third album with a special set in Italy.
With dubstep entering the mainstream and filthy 'wobble' ruling the airwaves perhaps we all need a reminder of just how thought provoking and emotionally intense bass music can be. New Burial album? SORTED.
It's been three years since the enigmatic London producer dropped new material, choosing to remain in the background. Forced to reveal his identity after being nominated for the Mercury music prize, the producer could still walk un-noticed through the nation's high streets.
Rumours of new projects have surrounded Burial, with reports of a one of DJ Kicks mix as well as a collaboration with Massive Attack. None of these projects have a confirmed release date, and could remain in the planning stages.
However it seems that a new studio album could be in the offing from the reclusive bass producer.
Hyperdub boss Kode9 is set to play a DJ set in Italy where it is rumoured he will play new material from the ghostly garage don. 'Kode9 plays Burial' echoes a similar performance in 2007, when the Scottish DJ previewed 'Untrue'.
Taking place in Italy and Turkey, the Club To Club festival boasts an already stellar bill. Other names confirmed on the line up include Modeselektor, Luke Abbott, Caribou, Jeff Mills and more.
Dubstep is represented by Berlin based producer Shackleton, and an appearance by future garage don Joy Orbison. Elsewhere, Four Tet is set to appear fresh from a residency at Plastic People.
However the tempting promise of new Burial material is by far the biggest attraction of the event. 'New' material from the reclusive producer regularly appears on sites such as YouTube, although there is no guarantee that it has any clear association with Burial.
Club to Club takes place from November 4 to 7 in Torino, and from November 3 to 5 in Istanbul. For more information, visit the festival's homepage HERE.
