Returning dance rockers Klaxons are amongst the acts confirmed for Radio 1's new student tour.
Students! Loved and loathed in equal measure, it can't be denied that those hefty loan payments go a long way to propping up a faltering music industry (and, of course, the nation's breweries).
Radio 1 has arranged a new four dates Student tour, designed to coincide with the upcoming Fresher's activities. Matching established talent to unknown newcomers, the tour will move across the country.
Hosted by Fearne Cotton and Zane Lowe, Radio 1's Student tour will be the usual mixture of music and mayhem. Opening in Newcastle on October 18th super producer Mark Ronson will unveil material from his new album.
Working with The Business International, the producer has roped in a series of guest stars. Expect some surprise appearances, with Mark Ronson sure to draw on the full reserve of his back catalogue.
Elsewhere, 30 Seconds To Mars are set to appear at Lincoln on October 19th while mainstream bass duo Chase & Status will tackle the Fresher's at Oxford University. Will the bridge of sighs survive to tell the tale?
The Radio 1 student tour will feature a special DJ set from Zane Lowe each night, with the dates finishing in Bristol. Returning nu rave giants Klaxons are set to appear, fresh from the release of their new album.
Three years in the making, 'Surfing The Void' is a strong return from the controversial trio. Set to headline a show at Bristol University's Anson Rooms Klaxons will be joined by a support slot from Everything Everything.
The Manchester newcomers released their debut album 'Man Alive' earlier this week, a stunning display of pop riddled imagination. Receiving warm reviews, expect a sensational live set.
