Dawn Landes has released a new duet with Josh Ritter ahead of their upcoming British tour.
Uniting two of the finest alt country singers around, a forthcoming tour with Dawn Landes and Josh Ritter is a delight for fans. The pair are close friends, with the new dates representing a rare chance to catch them playing together.
The pair have also been busy of late. Returning with a new album last year, Dawn Landes enhanced an already powerful reputation. Mixing country with breezy songcraft, her lilting voice is matched by increasingly thoughtful material.
Set to play a series of British tour dates, Dawn Landes will be joined by Josh Ritter. Returning with his fifth studio album, 'So Runs The World Away' was released last month to widespread acclaim from critics.
Taking fifteen months to complete the album, Josh Ritter displayed a perfectionist streak. "It’s a record preoccupied with the extremes of scale, from infinitesimal particles to the nearly incomprehensible distances between the head of a pin and a nebula. Where the songs felt large to me, I wanted them to be huge, both musically and lyrically" he said.
"I wanted them to feel like the steel hulls of massive ships sliding by deeply from below. Where they were small, I concentrated in on the smallest details that I could and we tried to make the music and the words work together. I love writing, and this was the most fulfilling record I’ve yet written.”
The celebrate an upcoming tour, the pair recorded a cover version of '500 Miles'. No, not the Proclaimers classic but the Hedy West song which Dawn Landes produced in her Brooklyn studio.

Meanwhile, tickets for the UK shows continue to be picked up by fans. A show in Glasgow has already sold out, with only a few tickets left for the remaining dates on the nationwide tour.
