The National are set to release a newly expanded version of their recent album 'High Violet'.

Hailing from Brooklyn, The National challenging songwriting and brooding baritone make them unlikely candidates for crossover success. However with 'High Violet' the band seemed to strike a chord.

Songwriting which was rife with frustration, The National seem to have matured with the release of 'High Violet'. The band enjoyed warm reviews, with the album becoming a word of mouth success.

Perhaps their finest document to date, 'High Violet' has become one of the year's most celebrated guitar driven albums. Mixing Nick Cave with Pavement, the band's alt rock blueprint seethes with intelligence.

Now fans can grab hold of a special deluxe edition of 'High Violet'. The National have confirmed the release of a two disc set, including a raft of previously unreleased bonus material.

Due for release on November 23rd, The National will include a series of unreleased tracks as well as B-sides and live recordings. Alongside the original album the Brooklyn band will include the alternate version of 'Terrible Love' and a series of live recordings.

Caught in action by KCMP, the band are also recorded performing a special homecoming show at the Brooklyn Academy Of Music.

The release comes as The National complete a North American tour. The Brooklyn band are set to return to the UK in November for a series of sold out shows, opening in Bristol on November 24th.

The National will play the following shows:
