Classy new synth-pop outfit Fenech-Soler have spoken to ClashMusic about their approach to live shows.

For a new band, often the only way to get noticed is to tour. A lot. Hailing from London, Fenech-Soler recently topped up the petrol in their trusty touring van and took off around the country.

Organising a series of shows, the dates follow the recent success of their single 'Lies'. A bursting mixture of dance and rock, it had a definite pop touch yet boasted some effortlessly slick beats.

Speaking to ClashMusic, Fenech-Soler explained the impact playing live has had on the way they construct new material. "Lies' is probably the oldest track on the album, and that's the current single" explained the band.

"We've been playing it live for a long time, and it's always been a staple of our set. However, sometimes it does get to a point when recording, where you need to cut down and figure out which songs are sounding the best."

The band have their roots in the dance scene, and have been invited to remix some high profile artists. Fenech-Soler explained that this is often a group effort, with each member contributing.

"It constantly differs which one of us will do it. We have two studio set ups, one much more complex than the other. Ross and I have a very minimal studio, just for songwriting. And then Andrew's is much more complex and equipped. So when it comes to Fenech Soler stuff, we try to divide it all as equally as possible between us."
