The final 16 X Factor finalists are to release a cover of David Bowie's classic song 'Heroes' as a single in aid of the Help4Heroes charity.
Originally released in 1977, the song was co-written by Brian Eno, produced by the legendary Tony Visconti and features Robert Fripp on guitar, creating that aching sustained motif that runs through the song. So, can 16 fame hungry wannabees match the end result?
Their hearts might be in the right place but Bowie's song is sure to take a mauling reminicent of previous X Factor winner Alexandra Burke's cover of 'Hallelujah'.
Oasis also had a bash at the song as a b-side of their 'D'You Know What I Mean?' single back in 1997 with results best described as leaden.
Enjoy Bowie's original 'Heroes' below before it's forever tainted by the airwave dominating cover.
The X Factor finalists' cover of David Bowie's 'Heroes' is released on November 7th.
