The Flaming Lips are set to appear on an upcoming episode of children's TV show 'Ya Gabba Gabba'.
With their vivid live show and euphoric message, The Flaming Lips are perfect for children. The band have crossed over with kids TV before, frequently inviting teletubbies to dance onstage with them.
Now The Flaming Lips are due to appear on the real thing. The Oklahoma band are set to perform on Nickleodeon show 'Ya Gabba Gabba!' as part of a bizarre new sketch.
Accompanied by some outlandish visuals, The Flaming Lips will stomp their way through 'I Can Be A Frog' - written especially for them by the show's staff.
A catchy tune about the power of imagination, it sounds not unlike the sort of thing The Flaming Lips fans have become used to. 'I Can Be A Frog' is the centrepiece of the new show, with Wayne Coyne donning a multitude of hats for his performance.
A cult show, 'Ya Gabba Gabba' had been threatened with closure. However a fan's petition is under way to retain the program, which has a cult following amongst American kids and their parents.
Due to be broadcast on November 5th, watch a clip HERE.
Meanwhile, The Flaming Lips are preparing for a stroll down memory lane. The Oklahoma band are due to re-visit their 1999 album 'The Soft Bulletin' on a series of dates, including a New Year's eve show.
Taking place in their hometown, the show will be followed with a British date next year courtesy of 'Don't Look Back'.
Taking place on July 1st, The Flaming Lips are due to appear at the lavish London venue Alexandra Palace. Tickets are on sale now!
