Them Crooked Vultures could be set to record a new album, according to bass player John Paul Jones.
Uniting three bona fide rock legends, Them Crooked Vultures used talent from Nirvana, Queens Of The Stone Age and Led Zeppelin. Releasing their debut album last year, the trio surprised fans by being more than the sum of their parts.
Slow burning rock 'n' roll, Them Crooked Vultures enjoyed huge acclaim. Touring across the world, the band seemed to have the time of their lives onstage each night.
Parting company to focus on their day jobs, drummer Dave Grohl is set to lead Foo Fighters onstage at Milton Keynes Bowl next year. The band's biggest shows to date, hundreds of thousands of fans are set to descend on the arena.
According to John Paul Jones, the band could get a surprise guest. "I might gatecrash one of their gigs I think… If he asks!" the bass player told BBC 6Music.
Foo Fighters are due to play two shows in Milton Keynes Bowl, taking place on July 2nd and 3rd. Amongst the support acts are Death Cab For Cutie, Biffy Clyro and more with tickets on sale now.
The one time Led Zeppelin star joked about joining the band onstage, but also revealed that a return to their day jobs did not spell the end of Them Crooked Vultures. "Some stuff we've worked on, but we're gonna write pretty quickly and just put it down," he said. "We may be a year or so."
Sessions for the band's debut album were apparently extremely productive, with John Paul Jones adding that new material "will mainly be excess material from the first album".
A highly regarded session musician, John Paul Jones is well known as an arranger. Strapping on his bass, the Led Zeppelin icon is due to perform in an upcoming opera titled 'Anna Nicole'.
Taking place in London's Royal Opera House the project opens in February and focusses on the life of controversial model Anna Nicole Smith.
