Noel Gallagher has spoken of his nerves after being invited to make the draw for the FA Cup Third Round.
Noel Gallagher has done a lot of ballsy things in his life. The songwriter worked with the Inspiral Carpets, gained employment as a bricklayer before finally achieving world fame and notoriety with Oasis.
Pushing through all that with a shrug of the shoulders, it seems that an appearance at the FA Cup draw put butterflies into his stomach.
The one time Oasis guitarist was invited to draw the teams for the FA Cup Third Round, alongside Kasabian star Serge Pizzorno. Noel Gallagher is a Manchester City fan, and in an astonishing turn of events managed to draw Pizzorno's preferred team of Leicester City.
Speaking on the FA's official website Noel Gallagher appeared to be overwhelmed by the occassion. One of the biggest weekend's in English football, the Third Round is when small teams meet the megastars.
"What where the odds on that, its unbelievable!" the guitarist said. "I am blown away by that, when I turned the ball around I nearly dropped it. I was more nervous after that then when I walked out on stage here at Wembley. The odds were astronomical."
Manchester City and Leicester City will now play each other in the Third Round. Speaking to reporters, Serge Pizzorno added that he kept having visions of dropping the ball after drawing a team.
"I was really nervous before the draw. I kept having visions that I was going to drop the bag and have to chase all the balls around the floor!" he said.
"Once I made that draw I completely lost it, I don’t remember pulling the next 10 balls out, I didn’t know what was going on. It was psychedelic."
Leicester City vs Manchester City will take place on January 8th or 9th.
