James Yorkston has added a special one off Christmas show at London's Luminaire.

Hailing from Fife, the countryside of Scotland runs through James Yorkston's work. The imagery of rural Caledonia frequently appears, along with a relaxed tone which could only come the East Neuk.

Releasing an album of 'Folk Songs' last year, James Yorkston spent the bulk of 2011 on the road. The singer kept a diary as he went along, with the songwriter compiling the entries into a new book.

Available next year, 'It's Lovely To Be Here' shows the other side of the music industry. One night stays in cheap hotels, continual travel and of course the insatiable urge to create run through the book.

Set to be released next year, James Yorkston will read from his diaries during a special performance at January's Celtic Connections event.

Meanwhile, promoters Eat Your Own Ears have teamed up with the Luminaire to present a special Christmas show. James Yorkston will perform in London on December 20th, retaining an annual festive concert.

Accompanied by a series of special guests, James Yorkston will make a festive journey to London for a one off show. Moving through the highlights of his back catalogue, the genial Scot will no doubt have a few surprises up his sleeve.

With new material and a book on the horizon, James Yorkston will move between rarely heard vignettes, unusual covers and of course those evocative folk songs which inspire his writing.

James Yorkston is set to play the following show:
