
British newcomers Yuck have confirmed details of their forthcoming debut album.
Emerging over the past year, Yuck have released a steady stream of material. The London based group have cultivated a passionate fanbase by following their own vision, striking a unique identity.
Debut single 'Georgia' sold out in a short time, with Yuck playing a series of fevered shows across the country. Self-producing a series of new tracks, Yuck even formed a short lived side projects.
Yu(c)k released a lo-fi piano led EP, before the parent group signed with American label Fat Possum. Working on their debut album, the band have now re-emerged from the studio clutching the master tapes.
Encapsulating the band's maverick spirit, Yuck are indebted to the grungy, lo-fi spirit of American alt rock. Mixing post-punk with rattling indie, what emerges is a distinct and recognisably unique voice.
The band are set to release their self-titled album on February 21st, with Yuck confirming a series of British shows. Opening in Southampton on February 17th, the band will take their debut across the nation.
The short burst of dates finishes in Norwich on February 26th, with other dates scheduled for Edinburgh, York, Birmingham and more.
One of the most highly anticipated debuts of 2011, 'Yuck' could be set to re-ignite a sterile British music scene.
