Arcade Fire are amongst the acts nominated for prominent categories at next year's Grammy awards.
Love them or loathe, few can deny the pulling power of the Grammy awards. The ceremony is watched by millions around the world, with performances capable of pushing a band into the mainstream.
Taking place early next year, organisers have unveiled the nominations for the upcoming Grammy awards ceremony. Arcade Fire have been given the nod in one of the most prestigious slots, the high profile 'Best Album' category.
The Canadian group will be facing off against Eminem, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and more. Also nominated for 'Best Alternative Album' Arcade Fire will do battle with Vampire Weekend, Band of Horses and more.
The Grammy committee have also given Arcade Fire the nod in 'Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group' for the album highlight 'Ready To Start'.
Other big winners at the nomination stage include Jay-Z who has scored a total of six categories. Cee-Lo Green has been nominated in four areas, while The Roots have been given five nods.
Ohio blues two piece The Black Keys will be celebrating after a successful year. New album 'Brothers' spearheads the nominations, with the duo receiving a total of five nods: Best Alternative Music Album, Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group With Vocals, Best Rock Instrumental Performance, Best Recording Package and Best Rock Song.
