Diplo is preparing to release a new compilation focussing on the output of classic British reggae label Greensleeves.

Hailing from Florida, Diplo seems to have an unusual interest in the intersection between Caribbean and British culture. A noted dancehall fan, the producer recently produced a mix of dubstep material.

Now Diplo is set to delve in the archives of classic British reggae label Greensleeves. Remaining an important point in the conduit between the UK and the Caribbean the imprint was founded in 1975.

Growing out of a small London shop, Greensleeves is one of Britain's longest running reggae and dancehall imprints. Riding the tempestuous winds of soundsystem culture, the label has overcome time and trend.

With a vast catalogue to choose from, Greensleeves has stood at the forefront of Caribbean music for over three decades.

Releasing a string of classics along the way, Diplo is preparing to offer a personal tribute to Greensleeves. Given his longstanding love affair with Jamaican music, the Florida producer is an apt choice for the new compilation.

'Riddimentary' opens with Alpha & Omega Mocking Bird's cut 'Who Is The Ruler' and is heavy on the classics. John Holt's 'Police And Helicopter' is a strong roots track, while dancehall pioneers such as Lone Ranger are represented.

Elsewhere, a string of iconic cuts follow from Rankin Dread, Eek-A-Mouse and the classic Prince Jammy track 'Interface'. Released on VP Records, the new mix apparently "shines a light on Diplo's production influences and expert knowledge" of reggae.

Due for release next year, 'Riddimentary: Diplo Selects Greensleeves' contains the following tracks:

1. Alpha & Omega Mocking Bird - Who Is The Ruler
2. Hugh Mundell - Jaqueline
3. Triston Palma - Joker Smoker
4. John Holt - Police In Helicopter
5. Barrington Levy & General Echo - Eventide Fire A Disaster
6. Joe Gibbs - Satta Amassa Gana Version
7. Rankin Dread - Fattie Boom Boom
8. Eek-A-Mouse - Anarexol
9. Lone Ranger - Gunshot Mek Daughter Drop
10. Clint Eastwood & General Saint - Sweet Sweet Matilda
