The Kills are set to release their new studio album 'Blood Pressures' on April 4th.
Mean and moody two piece The Kills have watched their media profile obscure their music in recent years. Guitarist Jamie Hince is often seen on the arm of Kate Moss, while Alison Mosshart joined Jack White in his latest project The Dead Weather.
Yet the duo remain drawn to each other. Dressed in black, The Kills make blues driven music which refuses to compromise. Heading back into the studio last year, the pair have now completed their fourth album.
The band's first since 'Midnight Boom' in 2008, it finds the pair on unfamiliar ground. Now much better known, The Kills face the prospect of balancing artistic desire with the demands of their fans.
Not that they care. The famously truculent band completed 'Blood Pressures' at the tail end of 2010, with the release set to come on April 4th.
Recorded in Michigan, Jamie Hince sat at the control before taking the tapes back to London. The final mixdown was handled by Tom Elmhirst, with the result being a much more adventurous affair for the group.
A typed note from Alison Mosshart let fans know a little about 'Blood Pressures'. The singer said: "The Kills are very excited to announce that their 4th album 'Blood Pressures' will be released around the world (excluding the USA) on April 4th, in the USA on April 5th."
"To let you know a little about the new record, we've included the track listing for you.... Which is a lot like looking at a list of words.
Enjoy".
