Gomez turned bedroom balldry into an art form. Famously scooping the Mercury with their home recorded debut album 'Bring It On' the band were an unlikely crossover story from the off.
Taking time off last year, Gomez singer Ben Ottewell decided to record a solo album. The result harks back to the band's early years, with Ottewell using a minimal set up for un-fussy arrangements.
'Shapes And Shadows' is due to be released on February 7th, with Ottewell enjoying renewed success.
Rejuvenated by the solo move, the Gomez singer has been playing a series of shows. Invited to play on BBC Radio by Dermot O'Leary you can hear Ben Ottewell on Saturday (January 15th) from 5.15pm.
