Skream and Benga hit Radio 1 last night (January 13th) for a very special broadcast.

Dubstep is continuing its assault on the mainstream. Almost exactly five years ago to the day Mary Anne Hobbs gathered some of the scene's brightest talents in her studio for a very special show.

Now two stars of 'Dub Warz' have been given their own show. Skream and Benga teamed up once again to take control of Radio 1 last night, playing a series of well known and unreleased cuts.

The pair were on fighting form, throwing jokes at one another throughout the show. The two producers first met as kids, hanging around the Big Apple shop in Croydon when they were still teenagers.

Since then, Skream and Benga have become two of the most important teenagers in the UK. Together with Artwork, the trio formed Magnetic Man who scored two Top Ten singles last year.

Taking dubstep into the mainstream, the pair's appearance last night was a neat piece of symmetry with the 'Dub Warz' anniversary just passing.

Hitting Twitter throughout, Benga seemed overjoyed by the success of the show. "Honestly, Biggup to everyone who tuned in earlier to me and , loving the feedback, bringing you guys the Benga bangers on a regular!"

Listen again HERE.

Now - how about a regular show...?
