In the 21st century pop has become processed to the point of oblivion, mass-marketed to eliminate all personality.
However there are a few groups fighting back. The Go! Team are in love with the golden era of the seven inch single, wrapping literally thousands of samples around their gleeful gang chants.
Taking time off, work on their third album 'Rolling Blackouts' has focussed more on melody than previous efforts. However that's not to say that The Go! Team have sacrificed their trademark energy.
The group still rant and writhe like demented three year olds, with forthcoming live dates set to explode across the length of the UK. Until then, fans should just enjoy the collaborations on 'Rolling Blackouts'.
Alongside The Go! Team's full line up, Best Coast singer Bethany Cosentino makes a guest appearance. Adding her cooing vocals to a sun fried dose of shoegaze, the track is just one standout on a typically strong album.
Taken from 'Rolling Blackouts', new track 'T.O.R.N.A.D.O.' spins round like... well... a tornado. A ceaseless force of energy, it doesn't seem like The Go! Team will ever tire.
