Death From Above 1979 have confirmed details of their first UK show in five years.
In the space of just one album, Death From Above 1979 shattered ear drums and pushed back expectations of what two people could achieve. With a stripped down set up, the Canadian duo managed to produce an unholy combination of bludgeoning riffs and primitive, screaming electronics.
With their sole studio album becoming a cult item, Death From Above 1979 left a powerful legacy. So news of their reformation at Coachella was greeted rapturously by fans across the globe.
Initially set to play just one show, Death From Above 1979 followed the Coachella announcement with plans to perform at an Austrian festival.
The European date raised expectations, with the duo now announcing a British show. The band's first date on UK soil in some five years, Death From Above 1979 are set to play The Forum in London on May 5th.
The venue will struggle to contain the duo, with fans already scrambling in an attempt to grab passes. Tickets for the show are set to go on sale this Friday (February 11th) from 9am.
Meanwhile, Death From Above 1979 have elaborated on their decision to reform. "2011 has a nice ring to it & if you’re so inclined, it may be the last year ever! So why not say YES? Why not say YES to Coachella? Why not say YES to playing the music we designed to be an undeniable source of power? Why not say YES to stirring up a writhing pit of sweaty humans? YES to riots! YES to heavy music! YES instead of maybe, and YES to make death your adviser and remind yourself always, that this is not a dress rehearsal. This is the big show."
