Oneohtrix Point Never is set to play a series of British dates with side project Games.
Emerging from the bowels of the Stateside drone scene, Daniel Lopatin initially released his material on hard to find cassettes. Kept to a strictly limited edition, Oneohtrix Point Never was able to build an aura of mystery.
Using vintage synths, albums such as last year's 'Returnal' have a rare emotional impact. Fuelled by a sense of nostalgia for forgotten technology, Oneohtrix Point Never has received widespread acclaim.
Meanwhile, Daniel Lopatin has been working on a separate, distinct project. Games is a duo, also featuring Tigercity’s Joel Ford, which showcases a more playful, throwaway side to Lopatin's productions.
Retaining the rich vein of nostalgia, Games are centred on distorted R&B samples, FM jams from the very depths of your childhood memories.
Now both acts are set to play a series of British shows. Oneohtrix Point Never and Games will play a number of joint dates, beginning with a show at Bristol's Arnolfini on April 7th.
Travelling around Europe, the two acts are due to perform at London's experimental Ether festival. Confirming a handful of British shows, Oneohtrix Point Never and Games are due to appear in Glasgow on April 10th.
Taking place at the city's renowned Sub Club venue, the pair will be joined by the always excellent Optimo.
A one off date in Dublin has been confirmed for April 12th, before Oneohtrix Point Never and Games see out the tour with shows in Athens, Paris and finally the Museum Of Contemporary Art in Bucharest.
