British rapper Dels is preparing to release his eagerly awaited debut album 'Gob' on May 9th.
Hip hop and dance make uneasy bedfellows. Anyone remember the inglorious failure that was hip house? Shudder...
Hailing from Ipswich, Dels is the sort of brave, adventurous fool who could just make that combination work. First discovered as an unknown teenager by John Peel, recent productions with Joe Goddard have garnered some stunning hype.
Recent single 'Trumpalump' was a storming triumph, featuring fellow MC Ghostpoet. Dels has been working on his debut full length, with the forthcoming album 'Gob' due to be released on May 9th.
Joe Goddard was present throughout, and has emerged suitably impressed. "Dels has something in common with Kool Keith, he has great imagination and a willingness to talk about subjects other than money and his own prowess" he said.
Due for release on May 9th, the album will be accompanied by some special live slots. Dels is due to play his first ever headline show in London on April 7th, alongside a stellar cast of live acts and DJs.
The live show will feature full band plus electronics, with Dels joined by Elan Tamara and The Bakery feat. Kwes. Elsewhere, fans will be kept on their toes with DJ sets from Joe Goddard and Micachu.
Elsewhere, Dels is due to play Roundhouse Rising on February 26th and is also set to fly out to SXSW for a Texan adventure.
With a new single on the horizon, and artwork provided by US Design Studio Dels looks set to break out with his debut album.
