Bloc Party side project Young Legionnaire are set to release their debut album in May.

Winding down in 2009, Bloc Party decided to take an extended break. However since then the respective band members have spent more time than ever making new music under a raft of pseudonyms.

Singer Kele Okereke dropped his second name, found some antique synths and started making electro pop for his debut album 'Tenderoni'. Meanwhile, guitarist Russel Lissacks went out on tour with Ash.

In addition to this, the musician then released the debut album with his Transatlantic side project Pin Me Down. Now bass player Gordon Moakes is planning to release a batch of new material.

Long term side project Young Legionnaire have sporadically released material in the past, featuring contributions from Moakes and The Automatic's Paul Mullan.

Now the pair have decided to focus on making their debut album. Young Legionnaire are due to release a full length on May 9th, with the duo deciding to opt for the ominous sounding name 'Crisis Works'.

Little has been heard from the album, although Young Legionnaire have decided to make the single 'Chapter, Verse' available from their official website. Out now as a free download, you can find out more HERE.

Meanwhile, Young Legionnaire are gearing up for a series of live shows. The pair are planning to travel out to Austin next month, in order to appear at the enormous SXSW showcase.

While we're here... how about that new Bloc Party album? Guys? Guys...?

Young Legionnaire are set to release their debut album 'Crisis Works' on May 9th.
