Fleet Foxes have been confirmed as the headliners for the Coors Light Open House Festival.
Sparking a new trend for plangent Americana, Fleet Foxes match well honed songcraft to near effortless harmonies. The band's debut album was an overwhelming success, taking the group across the world.
Taking time off last year, Fleet Foxes began working on a possible follow up. Returning in the opening days of January, the band announced the release of their eagerly awaited second album 'Helplessness Blues'.
Releasing the title track as a free download, it was clear that Fleet Foxes had no intentions of changing their sound. A solid continuation from their debut, it augers well for the forthcoming full length.
Arranging a short tour of the UK, tickets for all dates are in high demand. Fleet Foxes have made plans to play just a handful of festivals, with the American group due to headline this year's Green Man.
Keeping live plans to a minimum, the band will end their current tour with an appearance at Cornwall's Eden Sessions.
Now the band have outlined plans for a show in Belfast. Fleet Foxes are due to headline Coors Light Open House in the Northern Irish city, alongside a specially chosen cast of guest performers.
An annual event in the city, Coors Light Open House is an open air show in the centre of Belfast. Gathering thousands of music fans close to mid-summer, a number of special guests are due to be unveiled.
Set to celebrate the release of 'Helplessness Blues' with a performance at the event, Fleet Foxes have confirmed a rare Northern Irish appearance. Taking place at Custom House Square, the historic setting is quite appropriate to the band's timeless music.
Tickets are on sale now.
Coors Light Open House takes place on June 25th.
