Nightmare Before Christmas is set to return with curating duties being shared by Battles, Les Savy Fav and Caribou.
Taking place in the run up to December 25th, Nightmare Before Christmas is a way for music fans to avoid the Yule-tide rush. Returning this year, the three day event has installed a team of curators.
Allowing each group to take control of one day, Nightmare Before Christmas will be steered by Battles, Les Savy Fav and Caribou. Three stunning live acts, the trio will perform themselves alongside a specially chosen cast.
Of the three, Battles are perhaps the most eye catching. The avant rock outfit have rarely played shows over the past 12 months, choosing to concentrate on the increasingly lengthy sessions for their second album.
Singer Tyondai Braxton departed, leaving Battles to operate as a trio. The band are set to release their second album through Warp later this year, with fans anxious to see how they will progress after 'Mirrored'.
Due to curate one day at Nightmare Before Christmas, Battles will be joined by two seismic live acts. New York's Les Savy Fav are rightly hailed as underground icons, releasing a stream of vivid rock music pitched halfway between hardcore and pop.
Dan Snaith's Caribou project began in his bedroom, but the live show has grown to become a full band experience. Pushing ever outwards, the collective have taken acclaimed recent album 'Swim' and twisted it into different shapes.
Tickets for the three day festive event are set to go on sale this Thursday (March 3rd). In total, forty five live acts are due to perform at Nightmare Before Christmas, with Djs, cinemas and more available for fans.
The full line up is set to be released closer to the time.
Nightmare Before Christmas takes place between December 9th - 11th.
