Germany's Kompakt imprint has long been associated with a particular sound.

Sleek, ordered techno which borders on the minimal, mainstays such as Michael Mayer are hugely respected. Recently, though, the label has begun to diversify, signing some more eclectic acts yet with its celebrated taste still evident.

A mark of this new, relaxed mood is the debut album from Rainbow Arabia. The Los Angeles based two piece released their new single 'Without You' recently, restricting the seven inch version to just 400 hand numbered copies.

Working on their debut album, the pairing match a near OCD fascination level with production to a gleeful songwriting style. Often seen emotionless, Kompakt are really letting down their hair with Rainbow Arabia.

Debut album 'Boys & Diamonds' is a real treat. Inspired by 80s synth pop groups such as Yazoo and Depeche Mode, Rainbow Arabia are very clearly working in the 21st century. Bang up to date, the Los Angeles pairing never let their love of decent technology come in the way of having fun.

Arranging a full European tour, Rainbow Arabia are planning to launch the British dates with an appearance at the Camden Crawl. Dates in Manchester, Glasgow and more follow before the band wrap up the short jaunt with a show at London's CAMP on May 4th.

To toast the duo's return to British shores ClashMusic has grabbed a special re-edit of 'Without You'. Dramatically longer than the single, the new version has plenty of dancefloor potential.
