
British songwriter and notorious wit Jarvis Cocker is set to perform at this summer's Port Eliot Festival.
The festival season existed before pop music, and it will exist long after people get sick and tired of rock's thrills. A new breed of summer event is emerging which blends modern music with rather more high brow pursuits.
Set in Cornwall, the Port Eliot Festival returns this year with a bumper line up. Mixing music, art and the gentle art of conversation the Cornish event will be dominated by a special appearance from Jarvis Cocker.
The former Pulp icon is now a renowned broadcaster, and the 6Music presenter intends to being his show to the South East. Jarvis Cocker will speak to fans, with the singer also due to perform live.
Now a renowned solo artist, Jarvis Cocker will be joined by some fascinating figures. Former KLF star Bill Drummond is due to speak at the event, with the sonic terrorist turned philosopher speaking about some of his new ideas.
Drummond is a legendary figure in the music industry, with a series of books outlining his outlandish but logical ideas.
Port Eliot Festival will bring together some sterling musical performers, with Fionn Regan due to play his celebrated debut album. Harper Simon is also set to drop by, fresh from the success of his new album.
