Gloomy New Yorkers Interpol have brought forward the release date of their new album.
Interpol's return has been extremely turbulent. After a brief holiday on a major label the band recently returned to Matador for their fourth album to date, spending the bulk of last year working on new material.
Set to be released internationally through their own Soft Limits label, the new album has produced a host of difficulties.
Tiring of the rigours of Interpol, bass player Carlos D exited the New York group earlier this year. Shortly afterwards, a high profile support slot on the U2 tour was cancelled after Bono underwent back surgery.
Forcing the group to postpone an entire North American tour, it seemed as if the comeback was becoming a disaster.
However since then things have been plain sailing. Interpol have recruited two new members, including former Slint guitarist David Pajo, while a recent announcement confirmed the re-scheduling of their North American tour.
Now Interpol have brought forward the release of their fourth album. Self-titled, it will be released in the United States on September 7th. The band have not confirmed any change to their international plans, with the record set to hit the stores in the UK one week later on September 13th.
Meanwhile, the New York group have released an HD video for the previously released track 'Lights'. Available as a free download, the Charlie White video is available from the official Interpol website.
