Indie-folk heroes Mumford And Sons have confirmed details of a new tour and a limited edition EP.
Mumford And Sons may seem like an effortless success story, but the band have been honing their craft for years. A series of EPs on tiny independent labels whetted appetites, building up a devoted fan base for their jaunty folk stylings.
Releasing debut album 'Sigh No More' last year, the record became a sleeper hit. Heavy touring saw word of mouth spread on the band, pushing the album into the upper reaches of the charts.
'Sigh No More' remains in the Top Ten, with Mumford And Sons playing ever larger venues. Set to play two special shows with an Indian collective this summer, the band have now confirmed details of a headline tour in Autumn.
Containing some special headline shows, tickets for the tour are due to go on sale from Wednesday (June 30th). However a select batch of tickets are on pre-sale now from the Mumford And Sons website.
Meanwhile, the band have recorded material for a new EP which will be available exclusively at the tour dates. Titled 'Volume 1' the EP will contain tracks which the band regularly play on their own, but rarely onstage.
Limited to just 100 copies per show, the ten inch vinyl release was produced by Ethan Jones and Dom Monks over the course of just two days. Using the group's alter ego The Wedding Band, any remaining copies of the EP left over after the pre-sale will be sold on the night for £7 a pop.
European fans won't be left out, with upcoming shows in Paris, Amsterdam, Cologne, Berlin and Brussels also playing host to the new EP.
