Belgian beat brothers 2ManyDJs have revealed that admiration for The Chemical Brothers.

In the frenetic world of dance music, few acts can last the pace. Yet 2ManyDJs have spent the best part of a decade travelling the world, making fans move to their unique blend of mash ups and re-workings.

The duo recently played a storming set at Sonar Festival in Spain, where they dominated a sterling bill. Speaking to ClashMusic backstage, however, 2ManyDJs were full of praise for another act - The Chemical Brothers.

The London based duo recently returned with their seventh studio album, returning to the pulsating template which made their name. An enormous artistic success, it seems that 2ManyDJs are fans.

Stephen Dewaele explained that he enjoyed The Chemical Brothers' approach to music. "I'd love to see a band that was just about the music" he said. "Everyone now has a MySpace and a Facebook and a t-shirt. It's become part of it. I think young kids, that's what they understand, and as an artist it's interesting."

"It's what Bowie did, it's what a lot of people did from the beginning on, but in a different way, in a different format. So with The Chemicals I'd be really interested to see how it works out. They have the money to do it and they can pull it off."

Continuing, David Dewaele praised the band's longevity, comparing them to French electro-house pioneers Daft Punk. "They also have good tracks and its the same thing with Daft Punk. People like The Chemicals and Daft Punk stand out because their music is great, which is the most important thing, and then also visually they try to push the limit a little bit too and try to see how far they can get it."

"To be fair it's the best place for The Chemicals to be, here at Sonar: the Spanish really like The Chemical Brothers, they really love them."
