Australian group The Temper Trap have revealed that they are working on new material amid some of their largest shows to date.
The Temper Trap left behind their friends and families in Australia in order to allow their music to receive a wider audience. Booking a one way trip to London, the band took an enormous gamble on their future.
However it seems that the bet has paid off. The Temper Trap have enjoyed massive success recently, with the Australian group playing three sold out shows in the Shepherd's Bush Empire back in April.
At the weekend The Temper Trap played a headline show at Wireless festival, topping the bill on the second stage. As a special treat for fans the group played some new material, taken from their as yet un-titled second album.
"We're pretty excited to be playing in Hyde Park at a really big festival in the middle of London" drummer Toby Dundas reflected to the NME.
"The sun is out and I reckon the Londoners are up for having a good time this weekend. This time last year we were playing first at festivals on a really small stage. So to come back and headline a few is really cool."
Continuing, the drummer revealed that the band recorded new material during a brief visit to their homeland. "'Rabbit Hole' is one of the new ones we've been playing, it's about escape," he said. "We laid it down in the studio when we were last in Australia and decided we'd start playing it live."
Meanwhile, The Temper Trap are limbering up to an extremely busy summer. After performing at Wireless the band are set to play a massive show at London's Somerset House as part of a series of gigs.
The Temper Trap are set to begin work on their second album early next year.
