Nick Cave's unrelenting blues rock collective Grinderman have confirmed more details about their second album.
There are two distinct sides of Nick Cave's personality. On the one hand, the songwriter has matured into a thought provoking lyricist, capable of carving out nuggets of heartbreak that could move the most stubborn of hearts.
However Nick Cave is also a righteous preacher onstage, bellowing savage lyrics over a blues driven backdrop. Hemmed in by his burgeoning reputation, the singer formed Grinderman in 2007 to expunge his demons.
The band's debut album was a filthy, provocative slice of blues sludge. Returning to the studio last year, Nick Cave, Warren Ellis, Martyn Casey and Jim Sclavunos have thrown together another instalment of Grinderman.
Another explicit slice of blues rock, the album is due to be released in the UK on September 13th. Highly anticipated by fans, it follows on from an extremely busy schedule for songwriter Nick Cave.
The singer turned author released his second album last year, as well as compiling a collection of soundtrack recordings he had completed with Warren Ellis. In reward for his efforts Nick Cave was recently given an honorary degree by the University Of Dundee.
Meanwhile, Grinderman are also upon us with comeback single 'Heathen Child' due to be released on August 30th. The full tracklisting for the album has been confirmed, with songs such as 'Mickey Mouse And The Goodbye Man' and 'Bellringer Blues' due to appear on 'Grinderman 2'.
