
Even within the United States, 'the South' retains a romantic allure.
Perhaps it's the half-remembered Confederacy, or the literature of the dustbowl. Yet alongside this is a very definite sense of a musical heritage, with many styles blurring into one across the region.
Born in north-west Louisiana Dylan LeBlanc was exposed to a vast variety of music from an early age. With a name like 'Dylan' its easy to see where his brusk acoustic songwriting came from, but all manner of soul, blues and country elements run through his material.
Inspired by legendary songwriters such Townes Van Zandt, Neil Young and more Dylan LeBlanc began crafting his own songs from an early age.
Taking his inspiration from everyday life his material is sometimes gritty, at other points whimsical. A sense of humanity runs through his work, which steers him away from the cliches which dog other young songwriters.
Penning a deal with Rough Trade, Dylan LeBlanc is currently putting the finishing touches to his debut album with Grammy award winning engineer Trina Shoemaker in Nashville.
