Jay-Z Hits T In The Park

The warm spell of weather has continued as T In The Park as Jay-Z slays the Balado crowd.

Situated mid-way between Edinburgh and Glasgow, T In The Park has come to personify certain aspects of the Scottish personality. With this year's mixture of heavy rain, wind and glorious sunshine the festival goes a long way to defining the weather as well.

Sun breaks through the clouds for The View, before Ellie Goulding entertains King Tuts. A slick show pursues the audience, drawing heavily on the synth-pop of her much promoted debut album.

Yet something feels hollow. The crowd responds well, but Ellie Goulding leaves the feeling of being hype over substance.

On the Main Stage Dizzee Rascal entertains a partisan crowd. Wisely leaving out his World Cup anthem, the rapper runs through some of his biggest hits. An inevitable 'Bonkers' it met with a wave of lager, as thousands of pints are launched into the air.

The ever lively grime persona comes to the fore, pushing the crowd into ever high levels of hysteria.

Babyshambles appear on the Radio 1 stage, with Pete Doherty & Co. mixing new tracks with old favourites. Now a tabloid devil, the music is continually overshadowed by the caricature yet beneath this a warm and embracing songwriting talent greets the true fans.

Back on the Main Stage, Biffy Clyro play to a huge crowd. T In The Park favourites, the band have worked their way from un-fancied newcomers to welcomed headliners. 'Mountains' receives the biggest cheer, but really the entire set is a highlight.

Jay-Z continued the rap theme which has dominated the weekend, launching himself into a series of crowd pleasing favourites. As the man himself recently said, "it's not selling out, it's selling in" and it's difficult to argue with a set like this.

Dominated by recent colossal album 'The Blueprint 3' the set pushes the Balado crowd into ever higher levels of Bedlam...
