Liam Gallagher has claimed that his new band Beady Eye will be bigger than Oasis.

Liam Gallagher has never been one to remain modest. Even before Oasis were signed he was busy telling anyone who would listen that they were the best band in the world, battling football hooligans and the German mafia in the process.

Sadly Oasis split up last summer, with Noel Gallagher exiting the band following one row too many. Liam Gallagher was left to pick himself up, launching new fashion label Pretty Green and forming a new group.

Speaking to The Sunday Times, Liam Gallagher discussed his life post-Oasis and revealed his hopes for new band Beady Eye. Formed with fellow Oasis exiles Andy Bell, Gem Archer and Chris Sharrock up to three quarters of the album has been completed.

Liam Gallagher explained that the new band's material sounded a bit like Oasis, but was also indebted to vintage rock 'n' roll. Name checking Jerry Lee Lewis and T Rex, the singer claimed that Beady Eye would conquer the world.

"It'll be bigger (than Oasis). I've got no doubt about the music, no doubt about me," he said. "It's proper rock'n'roll. Oasis was a pop band compared to what we're doing."

Elsewhere in the interview, Liam Gallagher dismissed claims that he had never seen some of Noel Gallagher's children. Continuing, the singer predicted that his brother would "come crawling back very fucking soon".

Meanwhile, Liam Gallagher is still assisting the production of a new Beatles biopic based on the book 'The Longest Cocktail Party'.

The split hasn't stopped fans from urging Oasis to put aside their differences. Argentina star Lionel Messi recently revealed that he loved the band's music, and told Oasis to name their price for a World Cup celebration party once his country claimed the trophy.

However Argentina crashed out of the World Cup to Germany, meaning that any Oasis reformation is still some time off.
