Scottish indie pop legends Belle And Sebastian have confirmed details of a lengthy British tour this December.
With indie pop gaining respectability, Belle And Sebastian will soon have a lot to answer for. The Glasgow based band did more than any other to keep indie respectable in the 90s, releasing a string of seminal albums.
After 2006's 'The Life Pursuit' the band took time off, with singer Stuart Murdoch embarking on a number of unusual projects. Gathering together last year Belle And Sebastian began working on new material, announcing a series of live shows.
Initially, the band confirmed dates abroad before taking hold of the reins for this December's instalment of All Tomorrow's Parties. Titled 'Bowlie 2' the group have invited along some of their illustrious friends.
The likes of Teenage Fanclub, The Vaselines and more are on a bill which showcases just how much the world of indie pop owes to the Scottish music scene.
Recently headlining the Latitude festival, Belle and Sebastian have now confirmed details of a lengthy British tour. Taking place this December, it is the band's lengthiest outing in more than four years.
Opening in Gateshead on December 6th, the jaunt takes in appearances at Birmingham, Manchester and Bournemouth. The Bowlie Weekender 2 splits the tour in two, with the dates climaxing in a hometown show at the Glasgow Barrowlands.
Support for the shows have yet to be announced, with tickets going on sale from 9am this Friday (July 23rd).
