Multi-limbed New York collective !!! have confirmed an extremely rare British tour later this year.
Signed to Warp Records, !!! are one of the most ground breaking rock acts the past decade has produced. Taking their name from the phonetic rendering of tribal clicks, the New York group merge noise rock with Krautrock rhythms.
Simultaneously primitive and futuristic, !!! have released two astonishing full length albums. Back in 2007 the band released 'Myth Takes' to widespread acclaim, but since then have been inactive.
The group have suffered tragedy, with drummer Jerry Fuchs dying last year. The drummer was an important part of the DFA scene, and also played with The Juan MacLean and LCD Soundsystem.
Vowing to continue, !!! entered the recording studio with a new line up. The resulting album is called 'Strange Weather Isn't It?' and ends a three year long period of silence from the New York collective.
Due for release on August 23rd, the album will no doubt be another forward thinking chunk of provocative rock music. !!! produced the material themselves, with former DFA house engineer Eric Broucek assisting them.
Confirming a worldwide tour, !! are due to drop by the UK later this year. Kicking off in Manchester on October 29th, the tour will wind its way around the country.
Finishing with a show in London's Koko venue, the tour will open up the European leg of the band's current jaunt. A famed live act, !!! can take a Krautrock beat and stretch it into all manner of unrecognisable shapes. Recommended.
