
Isobel Campbell and Mark Lanegan have added a Glasgow date to their short British tour.
Sometimes odd couples just work. A shy and retiring indie pop icon, Isobel Campbell approached Mark Lanegan with caution. Offering the singer some material she had been working on, the mixture seemed to gel instantly.
Four years on from their debut, the pair have crafted two albums and a superb bonus EP. Completing work on their third full length effort, its clear that the artistic link between the two has yet to falter.
Due later this year, 'Hawk' is one of the duo's most cohesive efforts yet. The email led correspondence remains, but it seems that Isobel Campbell and Mark Lanegan have developed a bond which transgresses distance.
Taking time off from their day jobs, the pair have developed a subtle mixture of country, blues and Southern soul. Written, produced and arranged by Campbell herself, guest stars include Willy Mason.
Adding some Dylan-like tones, the singer appears on two stand out tracks. Amongst the most confident projects the two have embarked on, 'Hawk' shows that Isobel Campbell and Mark Lanegan are capable to adapting their relationship to suit all kinds of new material.
Announcing a handful of British dates, the pair have now confirmed a one off show in Glasgow. Isobel Campbell's hometown, the duo will tread the boards at the ABC on September 8th.
