Arcade Fire To Work With Terry Gilliam

Canadian group Arcade Fire are set to work with Terry Gilliam on a new live show stream.

Arcade Fire are capable of reaching places other groups would struggle to see. One of the most revered groups of the past decade, their output has been acclaimed by artists from other spheres.

Now the Canadian group are set to work with Terry Gilliam. The American animator rose to fame on the back of his gently surreal cartoons for Monty Python, intersecting their lunacy with groundbreaking animation.

Responsible to set pieces in the comedy group's feature films, Gilliam has gone on to become an award winning director. The animator is responsible for movies such as '12 Monkeys' and also directed the bizarre recent project 'The Imaginarium Of Dr Parnassus'.

Now the director is due to team up with Arcade Fire. The Canadian band planning a live stream from a New York show early next month, with Terry Gilliam set to oversee the project.

The director will take chart of the stream, with fans able to select multiple camera angles and even take part in the performance. Arcade Fire will perform to a backdrop of pictures sent in by fans, using the theme of 'suburbs' as a guide.

Taking place on August 5th, fans across the world will be able to watch Arcade Fire unveil tracks from their new album 'The Suburbs'. The band previewed the album at Ireland's Oxegen, playing several new tracks alongside their classic life-affirming anthems.

The band are set to play Reading and Leeds next month, following the release of 'The Suburbs' on August 2nd. The album will hit the shops with a range of covers, allowing fans to select from some eight designs.

Arcade Fire are due to stream their New York show on August 5th.
