Manchester songwriter Badly Drawn Boy has confirmed details of a new British tour.
The Mercury Music Prize can sometimes be more of a blessing than a curse. Last year's winner Speech Debelle endured a torrid time after scooping the award, sacking her label and struggling to make ends meet.
Badly Drawn Boy won the award almost a decade ago, but in typical unassuming fashion has refused to let glory go to his head. Maintaining his independent principles, the singer is taking his time over a new project.
Soundtracking an ITV drama at Christmas, the singer unveiled a series of new songs. Taken from an ongoing project, Badly Drawn Boy is currently attempting to complete an ambitious trilogy of albums.
The first release from the 'It's What I'm Thinking' series will be called 'Pt.1 – Photographing Snowflakes' and is due to hit the record shops on October 4th.
One of the singer's most ambitious projects to date, the album will be preceded by the single 'Too Many Miracles'. Due to be released on September 27th, the track ends a lengthy wait by fans for new material.
Badly Drawn Boy has confirmed a seven date tour alongside this, opening in Scarborough on October 16th. Other dates include an appearance at the Old Fruit Market in Glasgow, with the tour set to finish in London's Bloomsbury Theatre on June 27th.
The shows will be an opportunity for Badly Drawn Boy to showcase the new album, with the next two instalments due shortly.
Badly Drawn Boy is set to play the following shows:

16 Scarborough Spa Theatre
17 Holmfirth Picturedrome
18 Birmingham Town Hall
20 Glasgow Old Fruit Market
21 Manchester Royal Northern College Of Music
