The first ever Vintage At Goodwood festival has closed with a spectacular performance from The Faces.

Held at the Goodwood race track, Vintage At Goodwood is a weekend long celebration of historic fashion. The vintage fashion boom may be on the decline, but the English could re-ignite our love affair with the past.

Mixing music from the 1940s to the 1980s, Vintage At Goodwood had a broad musical palette. Dancers in vintage gear danced the lindy-hop to a crew of swing DJs, playing some mean jazz from the likes of Duke Ellington.

Elsewhere, a crew of rockers arrived and were soon jiving to hard hitting rock 'n' roll. The day passed off peacefully, but a rival crew of Mods were also seen with the sound of R&B following them across the site.

Speaking to The Guardian before the event, organiser Wayne Hemingway bemoaned the state of festivals in the UK. The designer claimed he was "underwhelmed by the lack of glamour" at the events he had been attending.

Aside from music, a series of auctions sold some astonishing vintage pieces. A guitar from Eric Clapton took pride of place during Vintage At Goodwood, with a piano from Abbey Road also on sale.

The festival finished with a performance from The Faces. The 70s rockers reformed recently, with Mick Hucknall replacing Rod Stewart on vocals. The Simply Red star's pipes shone through during a greatest hits set, including the classic hit 'Stay With Me'.

ClashMusic donned its finest vintage wardrobe for the event, and returned with a gallery of photos capturing the spirit of the event.
