London based pop merchants Marina And The Diamonds are to release their new single 'Shampain' on October 4th.
Pop at its best is always completely insane. The industry is dominated by total one offs, from Kate Bush to Madonna, Lady Gaga and beyond. Releasing their debut album earlier this year Marina & The Diamonds are as nutty as they come.
Formed by Welsh talent Marina Diamandis, the singer has never performed before in her life - she simply assumed she could become a vocalist. Writing her own material, the haphazard, untrained nature of her songs are what shines through.
Building a cult following with her extravert performances, Marina And The Diamonds spent the summer storming festivals across Europe. Recently performing at Flow in Sweden the singer has confirmed her new single.
Taken from her debut album, 'Shampain' is due to be released on October 4th. The typically inventive video for the track was directed by Kim Gehri, who recently worked with Chase & Status and Goldfrapp amongst others.
Alongside the single, Marina And The Diamonds have confirmed a number of British shows. The festival commitments continue with slots at Reading and Leeds, where the band will headline the Festival Republic Stage.
An upcoming headline tour sees Marina And The Diamonds spend the bulk of Autumn on the road, beginning with a show in London's legendary G-A-Y venue.
A Roundhouse show on November 8th is already sold out, forcing the band to add another date at The Forum soon afterwards. Taking place on November 9th, tickets for the Forum show are in high demand.
Finishing with a show in Brighton's Corn Exchange on November 15th, tickets for the upcoming tour are on sale now.
