Glasgow producer Rustie is set to return with his new EP 'Sunburst' on October 4th.
With hype surrounding the Glasgow dance scene, Rustie seems to have hidden himself back underground. Erupting out of the Scottish city with 'Bad Science' in 2008 the producer quickly earned himself a stellar reputation.
Together with Hudson Mohawke the pair led the way for the city's new generation of producers. Signing a deal with Warp Records, Rustie released an EP last year but the producer seemed to shy away from publicity.
With the Numbers label achieving acclaim with its highly selective release policy, the hype has been stolen by other Djs and producers. Perhaps with all the attention out of the way Rustie can be allowed to simply make good music.
Forthcoming EP 'Sunburst' is due for release on October 4th and is another burst from his fevered imagination. Alongside the bass frequencies and hip hop swagger is something unique to Rustie.
With all the bite of crunk running alongside some moments of genuine subtlety, 'Sunburst' is perhap's Rustie's most confident to date. The producer has arranged a mini-mix to show off his new material, check it out below...
