Strokes singer Julian Casablancas is aiming to kick-start more solo project, including a potential team up with Pearl Jam.

With The Strokes taking an age to record their fourth album, frontman Julian Casablancas broke cover to release his debut solo LP. 'Phrazes For The Young' was a step forward for the singer, moving between 80s electro pop and country.

Touring across North America and Europe, Julian Casablancas assaulted the British festival season performing at T In The Park, Glastonbury and more. With The Strokes currently putting the finishing touches on their new album, the frontman has revealed that he is working on some new ideas.

Julian Casablancas is a noted baseball fan, with his favourite team being New York Mets. Speaking to Rolling Stone, the singer explained that he was busy working on an alternative anthem for the side.

Working on some rough ideas, the frontman is currently recording some demos. "I'm totally serious," he explained.

"I have some ideas, I have to see if they like it. I've got a jar stuffed with songs, all these ideas that are just me humming into a recording device."

Mets announcer Keith Hernandez seemed touched by the singer's efforts. "As a Strokes fan, I would get a kick out of hearing what Julian can do with the song," he said. "It could be interesting and I am sure baseball fans, and especially Mets fans, would enjoy hearing it."

Continuing, Julian Casablancas revealed that he was working on a song he intended to give to Pearl Jam. It seems that the indie icon was a grunge fan in his youth, and would love to work with Eddie Vedder & Co.

"That would be a dream, because I'm a fan," he says. However Julian Casablancas faced some tough competition, with Pearl Jam's last studio album being helmed by revered producer Brendan O'Brien.
