Returning with his new EP, Lone continues his journey through the roots of dance music.
Forming the Magic Wire label, Lone has spent his career trawling through the roots of dance music. Mixing disparate elements of electronica, the producer also doffs his cap to the world of rock.
Debut album 'Pineapple Crush' was one of the year's finest electronic debuts. Harking back to the hardcore era, the record replaced the question 'where were you in 92?' with 'let's have it again in 2010'.
Part of an ongoing interest in the hardcore era, Lone took jungle loops and blew apart the standard template.
Returning with a new EP, 'Emerald Fantasy Tracks' moves even further back in time. Exploring the roots of techno, the collection sounds like the teenage dreams of the Belleville Three given a modern context.
'Cloud 909' explores Roland technology, all vintage piano stabs and hands-in-the-air vibes. From sun bleached euphoria to inspired house, 'Emerald Fantasy Tracks' is an entirely new area for Lone.
Out now on gatefold vinyl, ClashMusic has grabbed 'Reschooling' as a free download. Do your thing...
