Radiohead singer Thom Yorke has unveiled an enormous human sculpture in Brighton.
Radiohead are noted for their love of green causes. Hugely aware of the damage humanity is causing the environment, the band have frequently helped promote groups such as Greenpeace in the past.
Famed for their carbon neutral tours, Radiohead have embarked on a new project. Thom Yorke teamed up with 350 Earth recently to unveil an enormous human sculpture with a timely message.
Recruiting volunteers via the band's Dead Air Space blog, Thom Yorke created a human sculpture in Brighton. Visible from the air, the design was designed to depict the 11th Century figure King Canute.
Famed for attempting to roll back the waters of the sea, King Canute has become a metaphor for rising sea levels.
Working with Radiohead sleeve designer Stanley Donwood, Thom Yorke crafted the new design. Making an "image facing the sea that is visible from space" the singer recruited 350 volunteers.
The stunt is designed to raise awareness of the precarious climate situation. Radiohead aim to raise awareness ahead of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change in Mexico on November 29th.

Speaking of Climate Change, ClashMusic is operating without several key staff today. Heavy snowfall in the North East of Scotland has left several crew members stranded, with the city of Dundee essentially brought to a standstill.
So apologies in advance!
