Country music icon Willie Nelson has been charged following a drugs bust in Texas.

A well known fan of the peace pipe, Willie Nelson has enjoyed a fraught relationship with the law. On tour across the United States, a recent trip to Texas resulted in a drugs bust for the singer.
Travelling through the Lone Star State, the singer was stopped by police. Willie Nelson's tour bus was stopped by a police officer, who immediately noticed a suspicious odour from the crew's rolled up cigarettes.
According to the El Paso Times the tour bus was travelling along Sierra Blanca when a US Border Patrol office boarded. Six ounces of marijuana were recovered from the bus, with three people being arrested.
Amongst them was Willie Nelson, who was briefly detained by police. The country icon was briefly held, and paid a $2500 bond before being released to continue his North American tour.
The charge is the latest misdemeanour to go on Willie Nelson's rap sheet. The iconic singer has enjoyed frequent run ins with the law, with his previous tour also resulting in a charge for marijuana possession.
The singer has not let recent incidents affect his tour. Continuing with his North American shows, Willie Nelson played the Winstar Casino in Thakerville on Saturday night (November 27th).
