British Sea Power have announced a series of nationwide tour dates beginning next year.

Returning with their new album, British Sea Power find themselves in an unusual position. 2008's 'Do You Like Rock Music?' was a breakout of sorts, winning acclaim and a nomination for the Mercury Music Prize.

Since then, the group have soundtracked the cult film 'Man Of Aran' and released an acclaimed EP. All of which leaves them with an uphill struggle on their forthcoming album 'Valhalla Dancehall'...

A much more refined effort than previous albums, the record follows on from the more mainstream approach of 'Do You Like Rock Music?'. However that's not to say that British Sea Power have gone soft - the old eccentricities still remain.

Due for release next year, the band have confirmed a series of UK tour dates. Breaking cover on December 31st, British Sea Power are set to play a New Year's Eve Ball at London's Koko venue.

Running until 4am this will be a great way to see out 2010, while British Sea Power will have one eye on the New Year. The band's tour begins in earnest on February 7th in Cardiff, with dates continuing across the country.

The shows continue in Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester and more before coming to a halt at London's HMV Forum. Ending on February 27th, the tour will see the band finally unveil 'Valhalla Dancehall'.

Tickets for the shows are due to go on sale from 9am tomorrow (November 30th).

British Sea Power are due to play the following shows:
