The Who have teamed up with animator Chris Boyle for an unusual new clip ahead of the re-issue of 'Live At Leeds'.

An impressive studio act, The Who's technological ambition during their prime was matched by their searing live show. The band were known for epic sets, drawing on their back catalogue and their roots as an R&B act.

Honed on enormous tours across the United States, The Who's lightning live set was captured for posterity on the 'Live At Leeds' album. Recorded in 1970, the set is renowned as one of the finest live albums ever released.

Set to be given a lavish re-issue, 'Live At Leeds' will be spread over two discs. Containing a raft of restored and unreleased material, the new package contains the entire shows from that night at Leeds University.

Now the band have teamed up with animator Chris Boyle for an unusual new clip. Using the live take of 'Tattoo' as a soundtrack, the director takes fans on a journey through the band's career.

“This is a great lesser known Townshend song and the animated film captures Pete’s ability to create a complete story in 3 minutes" explains Roger Daltrey. "Although Pete has created Rock Operas such as ‘Tommy’ and ‘Quadrophenia’, which have translated into movies, many of Pete’s songs could be a movie in themselves.”
