Dave Grohl has revealed that Foo Fighters have completed work on a 'massive' new album.
One of the biggest rock bands on the planet, Foo Fighters have been largely silent for the past three years. Since the release of 'Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace' in 2007 the band have lain dormant.
Bursting into life last year, Foo Fighters teamed up with producer Butch Vig to work on new material. Working on eleven tracks, the album is now completed with Dave Grohl mastering the songs in his own home.
Speaking to BBC Radio 1, the genial drummer revealed that the new track were 'massive'. Probed by Zane Lowe about the album, Dave Grohl explained: "There's 11 songs and front to back there's not one sleepy ballad".
"We did it without any computers and it just sounds massive."
The first time Grohl and producer Butch Vig have crossed paths in twenty years, the album is the first the pair have worked on since Nirvana's seminal 'Nevermind' set. "Butch (Vig) swears that he's had more fun making this record than any other record than he's made in his life - that's a lot of records," said Grohl.
"The process was so simple. It was really in my garage. You could put a mini van in there and that's it." Continuing, the drummer explained that he doesn't "know what the single is going to be... it's hard to choose because it sounds like there's more than one".
Meanwhile, the countdown begins until Foo Fighters return this summer. With their new album on the horizon, the band have confirmed several enormous British live appearances including a date at the Milton Keynes Bowl.
Tickets are already sold out for the shows, with a number of festival dates also scheduled for Isle Of Wight, T In The Park and more.
